Preserve and Protect
Established in 2009, the Ebey’s Forever Fund was created to preserve, protect, and sustain the Reserve’s heritage buildings by providing seed funding through a competitive grant process to owners of historic properties. All grants awarded through the Fund are required to be matched by the property owners, thus maximizing the impact on the dollars granted.
In the first two years of the Ebey's Forever Grant Program, more than $120,000 was awarded to seventeen historic properties. These funds have been matched nearly 2:1, resulting in a local investment of over $350,000 to our local community!
This volunteer and community-driven fund is vital to helping protect the rural character and economic vitality of the Reserve for future generations. Donations will ensure the continued success of the grant program and other efforts. Learn more about how you can help at the Friends of Ebey's website.
Now in its third year, the Ebey’s Forever Grant Program awarded a total of $100,000 to thirteen historic preservation projects throughout the Reserve. This represents the highest amount granted from the program to date, and reflects the deep tradition of local stewardship for the rural working landscape and community of Ebey’s Landing.
Projects receiving grants this year represent a diverse set of private, commercial and public properties with a diverse set of needs.
